Rant about religion

Disclaimer: I don't like religion. I'm not saying what you believe is wrong but I am going to say why I don't like it and what I see wrong with it. I'm not saying that your choice of Saviour is not real. Don't be a dick.


I don’t like religion. I mean, people can believe what they want and I don’t care, just as long as they don’t force it on me and my hell bound ways. People who try to force their religion onto others shits me and I don’t understand why they do it. I understand why some people may want to be recognised as doing good or bad by someone (a person, Supreme Being etc) but I fail to understand why people want to force others into think what they believe is wrong. If there is some kind of Supreme Being then he/she/shim gave the human race some kind of freedom of choice so if your at least a good person then you should be better off in “the next life” or “on the other side” or whatever.

Thinking your religion is the right one is fair enough but dissing other religions and attempting to “save” people is bullshit. Annoying the shit out of someone is not going to save anyone, its just going to push them away from that religion. Wars are started over this kind of shit. Who gives a fuck if one countries main religion is Islam or another is primarily Catholic? And who gives a fuck if some dude is Jewish or that chick is Wiccan? Pretty much every religion is based on peace (unless, of course, you're a Satanist, but thats a whole other story that I don't are about) so fighting over who’s right is kind of a contradiction.

Christian based religions also annoy and confuse me an awful lot. They are the worst for their Bible bashing activities. Whatever branch of that religion they are, you are very likely to see them about the streets asking you to join their church or advertising their youth groups or telling you how other religions are wrong. A few of the ones I’ve seen and heard about (not all of them, just a few old school peoples and assholes) aren’t big on Jewish people. The sad thing about that is that Jesus was a Jew. The Jews AND the Romans may have killed their Saviour but Christian’s have killed a shit load more people that just one dude who supposedly came back to life anyway. Christians also fucked up Paganism. That’s why Easter has eggs and is never on the same day every year, why Christmas has a tree and all that jazz, some stuff to do with Halloween and the way it is and why the Pentagram is now a sign of the devil and all Satanist shit instead of it being a symbol of femininity and what not. Also, nuns are scary as.

The most fucked up religion of all (in my opinion) is Scientology. IT WAS A FUCKING SCI FI NOVEL FOR FUCK SAKE! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD WHEN YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR A FUCKING BELIEF SYSTEM AND BE ALL SECRETIVE ABOUT THE INNER WORKINGS OF SAID BELIEF SYSTEM?! And on the note of Scientology, I’d like to say that Tom Cruise is a fucking wanker. I’m sorry but its true and if you don’t think so then I pity you. (They'll probably come after me now, so if I don't post ever again, fairwell)

Anyway, I don’t hate people who are religious but I hate it when they’re wankers about it. Believe what you want but don’t be a dick about it and don’t argue because if your getting defensive about it then you’re only trying to prove to yourself that what you believe is true, not that the other person is wrong.



EDIT:
On a side note to religions and stuff I reckon if all religions were true and stuff then the Hindus have it best. Karma is practically science (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction). So basically, if you do good then you'll get something good.


Also, don't kill me for writing this blog. I enjoy my Atheist lifestyle and I don't want to give it up for death or whatever.
